I have been trying to think of some really cool Thanksgiving traditions to do. Any ideas? I really want Lizzie to be grateful for the things in her life ALL of the time, not just at Thanksgiving. But I still want Thanksgiving to be a special holiday.
I have really been trying to teach her what it means to be thankful for the many blessings in her life. We made a "Thankful Turkey" the other day. Well, I made it. But she told me all of the things that she was thankful for and I wrote them on the feathers. She thought of a lot of things. You can't even see most of the things because the feathers are overlapping each other. I was glad that she was able to think of so many blessings. She really likes her Turkey!

My Mom sent Lizzie a couple of Thanksgiving books that she really likes. Thanks Mom!!

I made/assembled these little pilgrim hat cookies. Super easy. I gave them to my Beehives on Sunday. I love the Beehives -- they get so excited over little things. :)

Do any of you have any neat Thanksgiving traditions that you want to share with me? I'm really interested...thanks. :)

I wish I had some ideas for you, but I don't. I'm going to steal your turkey idea though and do it with Ethan. What a cute, fun idea!
I started taking Nina to so-called tiny tots program, last time we made picture of turkey using Nina's hand print and wrote what she was thankful for, also they sing the song what I'm thankful for, week ago when teacher asked kids what they are thankful for Nina was the first to say that she is thankful for her Daddy and last time she said that she is thankful for turkey, I had a kick out of it! :)
what a cute turkey & cookies :) I don't have any Thanksgiving traditions that I do. But maybe you could have Lizzie think of someone she is thankful for and write them a nice note :) I think it's nice to stop and think about Thanksgiving, instead of skipping it as the stores seem to do. It's like they go from Halloween to Christmas!
I am having the same trouble. I have been visiting the Familyfun.com site a lot. They have a lot of cute activities, etc. But I don't really know how to drive the "lesson" home to my kiddo either. I wish there was some way to teach a three year old just how hard their father works, etc. Cute Turkey! I admire your art skills! I don't think I could pull that off!
