Well, well, well...it's been almost a month since my last post. It seems like Bryce was born just yesterday, yet at the same time it feels like we have had him forever. Things are going great for us! We absolutely love having baby Bryce in our home. He is a really good baby, despite the fact that he gets up every two hours (or more) at night causing me to lose a lot of precious hours of sleep. Fortunately, I know that he'll eventually sleep through the night...and I really am looking forward to that day with great anticipation. :)
Lizzie is doing pretty well with her new baby brother. She is a little jealous sometimes, which can be expected, but for the most part is handling everything really well. She gets really crazy when she sees him sometimes and accidentally squeezes him too hard, but I honestly think that it's out of excitement and not dislike (I hope, anyway). :)
We just purchased a double-stroller which I am SOOOOOOO excited about. I am one of those Mom's who finds it an absolute necessity to go on walks on most days of the week. Without the double-stroller, it was very difficult! I tried having Lizzie walk next to me while I pushed Bryce in the stroller, but that didn't really work because Lizzie would either keep running away from me or she would walk SO SLOW that it would take us an hour to get out of our driveway (I really don't like walking slow!!!). I also tried putting Lizzie in the stroller and then carrying Bryce in the sling, but I didn't really like that because the shoulder strap would really start to bother me after a while. In a nutshell, the double-stroller is AWESOME!!! :)
I have really missed running. I love running SO MUCH!! When Bryce was almost 2 weeks old, I took Lizzie on a walk while Jon watched Bryce. I couldn't take the slow walking anymore and so I started to run. Big mistake. Let's face it, when you give birth your body isn't normal again for a while. Especially the muscles down you-know-where. Let's just say that I hadn't been doing my kegal exercises as regularly as I should have and I ended up with a very wet bottom, if you know what I mean. It was very embarrasing walking back home with soaking wet pants. I at least gave all of the cars that passed me by a good laugh, I'm sure. :) After being traumatized, thinking that I would never be able to run again without wearing a diaper, I attempted again on Saturday while pushing the kids in the stroller. Success!!! :) Hooray, maybe I can start a running routine again. That would make me very, very, happy!! :)
Anyway, here a few pictures...
Bryce likes to sleep with his hands by his face. He is so cute! I just can't believe that he's actually mine...

Lizzie really likes swimming in her crab pool. Jon is really good at getting it out for her whenever he can. She likes putting bubbles in it like she's in the tub.

We're such horrible parents. :) Who puts a gate around a swimming pool? We put the pool on our front porch because it is always too hot to go in the sun. It's nice because we can feel the heat, but we don't get sunburned!!

Lizzie playing with Bryce. She really loves to give him hugs and kisses. She thinks that he is really cute. :)

Bryce really likes looking at this little toy that my friend gave him. He stared at it for almost 30 minutes one time!

His hands by his face, again...

I thought this was so funny. Bryce was only a few days old and I came into the room to find Jon reading him "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". Bryce fell asleep, Jon did too after a while.

Lizzie is so funny. She loves playing dress-up!

And she loves eating bubbles too...what kid doesn't?

This is the only picture we have taken so far with me and the kids...and it's when Bryce was three days old. I wish that there were more...oh well!

Bryce is so patient while Lizzie gives him toys to play with. :)

Like father, like son. I swear that these two look more alike every day!

Life is great! We have truly been blessed!

What darling kiddos you have!! I love all the pictures.
Yay for an update! Bryce is such a handsome little guy and he sounds like a great baby. I hope he decides to sleep for longer than two hours at night VERY SOON! And Lizzie is too cute in her little pool. The double stroller sounds heaven sent! :)
