Wow! I can't believe that Lizzie turned 2 today!! The past 2 years have flown by so quickly and I'm a little sad to realize that the speed of time is only going to increase. Lizzie is such a joy to have in our lives. She is so sweet and full of personality and we just love her to pieces!
She has learned so much in her short time on Earth! She loves to read and as a result is very familiar with a variety of animals. She knows her colors and her shapes. She can recite bits and pieces of the ABC's and she can count from 1-10 (when she thinks I'm not listening). She loves to color with crayons and colored pencils. She loves the Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse.
She has become quite the talker lately. Some of her favorite phrases that she repeats OVER and OVER again include:
I will hug you (when she wants me to pick her up and hug her)
I will help you
I found a ..... (anything that she finds)
Look, Mommy! (she says that to everyone, not just me)
I need a ..... (anything that she "needs")
I went poo-poo (even when she just went pee-pee)
I will feed you (when she wants me to help her eat)
Don't drop it (food from the table)
Keep it safe (keep her water bottle and blankie "safe" in the stroller)
I promise
I mean it
I want my.... (anything that she wants)
No boca (she says it, yet she still puts things that she isn't supposed to inside of her mouth!)
Mano (she knows that she needs to hold our hand on the street, etc.)
Sit on bum, no jump (on the couch, on her bed, etc.)
No walls, only paper (only color on paper)
Broken Kix
I love you
She says a lot more, but I think that those are the main phrases that she repeats on a very regular basis.
I could talk all day about our little Lizzie-Lou, but I think that I'm going to make myself stop now. I am just so grateful that Heavenly Father sent us such a sweet little spirit to take care of.

We decided that we didn't want our kids to have "friend" birthday parties until they turned 3, so we just had a little family get-together to celebrate her birthday. My sister, Tara, and her family came. Jon's sister, Darlene, and her husband came. And Jon's Mom came. Jon's Dad was out of town on business, unfortunately, so he couldn't make it. My family, of course, lives in Utah and so they really couldn't make it either.
I wanted to make Lizzie a special cake but I was a little hesitant, considering my past experiences. After much internal debate, however, I decided to try to make a Little Einsteins Rocket Cake. I looked at some pictures and a few explanations online and it surprisingly ended up working out okay. :)

Here is Lizzie before dinner, sporting a knitted purple beanie that she refused to take off...

Here are Mikey and Lizzie eating dinner. Grandma Over made breaded chicken and we also ate baked french fries, salad, and corn. It was yummy! :)

Lizzie loves ANYTHING as long as she can dip it in ketchup...

Daddy and Lizzie during the "Happy Birthday" song...

Lizzie, not quite sure what to do with the candle...

Needless to say, Mikey ended up blowing the candles out for Lizzie. She was too mesmerized by the flame to blow it out!

Lizzie got to take the initial stab into the Rocket Cake. I was a little sad to see the cake ruined! Although, I DID make it to be devoured, not merely admired. :)

I, unfortunately, didn't get very good shots of Lizzie opening her presents. She was very blessed, however, and received a lot of great gifts. Grandma Over bought Lizzie her new big-girl bed that she currently has in her bedroom -- THANK YOU GRANDMA! Lizzie loves the bed a lot. Mikey gave Lizzie a pink "My Little Pony" that she also loves. Tia Darlene and Tio Justin gave Lizzie a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Book, and Grandpa Over gave her a Nemo stuffed animal. Grandma and Grandpa Turley gave her a coloring book and a paint book.
THANK YOU, EVERYONE, FOR MAKING LIZZIE'S BIRTHDAY A SPECIAL DAY!! :)
WE LOVE YOU, LIZZIE-LOU!! :)

Happy 2nd b-day! I can't believe she's two!! She's getting so big!
Good Job on your cake! You along with anyone/everyone else makes me feel like such a loser! I don't even try to ATTEMPT to make birthday cakes! Just head on over to the good 'ole store bakery! Jack's 2nd birthday was by far my favorite. Whenever he opened clothes he threw them across the room. I can't belive your new baby is almost here! I'm so excited and nervous for you. I can't wish no sleep even on my worst enemy! Good luck! We love 'ya!

Oh! The (Sr. class officers) are trying to gather everybody's contact info so we can get you information and updates about the 10 year reunion next summer. Will you please take a minute and send an email to the account we've set up: mtcrest00@gmail.com and let us know your current email address or best way to reach you. Nobody else will have access to this information. It'll be for planning and contact purposes only. If you know of friends from our graduating class that don't have facebook, please pass along this information or get us their email addresses. With so many of us that graduated, we need all the help we can get finding everyone. Also, any suggestions and ideas concerning anything about the reunion would be awesome!! Thanks everyone!--------------------
