We decided to entertain ourselves and put a balloon under Elizabeth's pajamas. We laughed so hard that we were practically crying! Here's what we imagined...
"Man, I'm sure getting big. It's been a long pregnancy! Will the growing and the stretching ever end? The seams on this night gown are just about ready to burst!"
"Man, I'm sure getting big. It's been a long pregnancy! Will the growing and the stretching ever end? The seams on this night gown are just about ready to burst!"
"Wait a minute...something feels a little funny down there."
"Yeah! Could I actually be going into labor!"
"Oh, the pain! That was definitely a 10! Why didn't my mom tell me that it would hurt so bad?!"
"The contractions are 2 minutes apart now! I think that it's time for me to sit down..."
"Wow. I can't believe that in just a short while, my abdomen will no longer be enlarged. I have become quite attached to this big mass of tissue. Wait a minute...what in the world am I going to do without my portable, easily accessible dinner tray?!"
"Hmm...it's kind of fun to poke. I wonder if the baby feels it?"
"Okay. I think that I'm ready!"
"Let's get this baby out!!"
I'm sure that no one else will think this narrative is as funny as we did...but we just had to share it anyway!! :)

Other random tidbits...
Since becoming a mom, I have discovered that I'm somewhat of a neat freak. I have also realized that it's pretty much impossible to keep a baby neat and clean while they eat. It's been hard for me to come to terms with this small fact! No matter what prevention methods I attempt, Elizabeth seems to always manage to chew on her hands while there is still food in her mouth, and then proceed to rub her grimy hands in her eyes, hair, and ears. Yuck! I give her a bath every night before bed, but every once in a while I still manage to discover a spot of dried up, day-old sweet potatoes behind her ears! Maybe I'll start making her sit on her hands while she eats and continue spoon-feeding her until she's old enough to eat like a civilized adult. :) But then again, maybe not - the term "Child Abuse" comes to mind...
This is precisely the reason why she rarely wears shoes...
Just a few cute pictures of Elizabeth hanging out with her Daddy. She loves sitting on Jon's shoulders. Sometimes, she'll just sit up there and play with Daddy's hair or stare into space for a good 10 minutes (the reason for Jon reading a book at the same time). This time, however, she decided that she wanted to be a curious monkey. :)

Love the balloon pics and dialog. Too funny!
Andrea, that is sooo funny! The things you come up with! She looks like she's ready to get moving...watch out!
The second to the last balloon pic is so cute. Elizabeth has her hand on her stomach just like a pregnant woman would. I laughed reading it. You should have used your video camera then posted that so that we could hear you and Jon laughing!
How funny! The things we make our kids do, for our benefit :) It looks as though Elizabeth is starting to smile in pics more! She is the cutest!! You and Jon must have a ton of fun with her all of the time.
I have to laugh about the eating neatly thing! It was hard for me with Jack too. It still is! Some times I can't take one more stack of dirty clothes, so he eats in only his diaper and goes straight into the bath tub!
I love the balloon pictures. you guys and your stories. You crack me up.
Andrea! I love the hysterical pics of your baby and the balloon. She is just too cute! I came across your blog and I'm so glad I did. Hope all is going well with you and your fam!
