Before I forget...

I have to quickly write this down for my own record-keeping. Last night was one of those horrible nights that I hope to never repeat any time soon. Lizzie was sick. The night was full of coughing, puking, baths, and laundry. It finally ended at 4:00 a.m. when Jon strapped Lizzie in her car seat and drove around for half an hour to see if the car ride would force her to zonk out. Which it did. Hooray!

But that's not the part that I want to remember.

I want to remember this:

At one point amidst the coughing, I decided to try giving Lizzie the simple home remedy of a spoonful of honey. I brought her the spoon full of honey and tried to give it to her while she was sitting in our bed. She refused to eat it. I asked her to please try it because it might make her stop coughing.

She told me that she couldn't eat it without saying a prayer first.

She proceeded to say the prayer:

"Heavenly Father," (cough, cough, cough) "thank you for the honey." (cough, cough, cough) "Please" (cough) "bless it" (cough, cough). "And please bless Mommy," (cough, cough) "and Daddy," (cough, cough, cough) "and Brycie-Boy" (cough). "In the name" (cough) "of Jesus Christ" (cough, cough) "amen."

Then she ate the honey.

My heart was touched. And I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be the Mother of this sweet little girl. If only I could be more like her.

This is soo sweet!!! Lizzie's little prayer filled made my eyes teary! Give her kisses from Nina hopefully she'll get to feel better soon. Btw, they sell in Walmart special cough syrup it's all natural, you should try it for Lizzie, it works magic on Nina!

Oh, that is so sweet. You must have been so proud of her. She has such good examples from her parents. :) I hope she and you feel better.

Your daughter is so sweet! Those are just the moments that make you feel so great! I hope you know that you are just as awesome as she is and that's why she picked you to be her momma. She knew you and Jon would show her the right way and how to reach her potential. Your obviously doing an amazing job! Keep it up!
(And sorry these last two comments are so late, when I tried typing them last week it wouldn't allow me to post them).

That is hilarious! What a great girl, I can't believe that she wouldn't eat it without a prayer. How cute.

I loved reading those 50 facts about yourself. I didn't know you have dual citizenship. Actually, there were a lot of things I learned about you. Thanks for sharing.
