Don't worry, we still exist!

Hey Everyone! I want to apologize for the incredibly long delay in posting. We don't have the internet, which makes becoming an official blog addict (like a lot of you out there) a little difficult. :) Life has treated us very well this past month. I can't believe that Thanksgiving has come and gone! We are really excited for Christmas, it's my favorite time of year! I started listening to Christmas music mid-October...I just couldn't resist! My sister, Tara, and I used to secretly listen to Christmas music really early (against the will of our Mom -- what rebels we were) and I just haven't broken the habit yet. :) Anyway, this posting will be a medley of pictures. Sorry for the COMPLETE lack of organization, but hey, at least I'm posting! :)

Jon bought a turkey fryer this year. Yes, we actually had fried turkey for Thanksgiving! It was pretty delicious, despite the few complications that we encountered. Below is a picture of what the turkey looked like after we marinated it the day before Thanksgiving. (A couple of pictures down is a picture of what the turkey looked like after it was fried to death). :)

Here is a picture of me marinating the turkey (maliciously stabbing it with a needle full of stinky marinade). That was my first experience, and it was actually pretty fun! :) Jon sure has exposed me to a lot of interesting things!

I put up our Christmas tree the day before Thanksgiving...I know, sometimes I completely lack patience. Who knows how I survived teaching high school for two years!

This is one of my first painting "projects". It was really fun, and really fast. I did it in about a half an hour while Elizabeth was taking a nap. I'm thinking of making a different sign for every month -- they're really fun to make! (Thanks Mom, for giving me the idea.) :)

Yeah, below is what a turkey looks like after it has been sitting in hot oil for an hour. Looks delicious, eh? :) Believe it or not, there were actually some edible pieces of meat below all of the charred stuff. :) We didn't have as many left-overs as we probably should have had (we had to toss a lot of it), but that was fine by me -- we didn't have to have turkey in every meal for the next 2 weeks. :)

I finally decided that I should try and be a good mom and figure out how to do my daughters hair. I sometimes wish that female baldness would become the fad (it sure would save a lot of time and frustration!). However, since that isn't the case, I decided that I should probably start putting bows and ribbons in her hair. Surprisingly, I didn't do too bad of a job (it's quite difficult trying to tie a ribbon in a squirmy 4-month old baby's hair!). I just think that Elizabeth is the cutest baby on earth, although, I may be a tad bit biased. :) Also, I have never seen a baby with such big cheeks before! I hope that I'm not being rude to her when I sing her the song "Do your CHEEKS hang low, do they wobble too and fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow? etc. ". I hope that I'm not saying anything that will psychologically damage her for life! :) I'm just having a little fun. :)

The pink dress that she is in (below) was made by her great aunt. I can't believe it! She knitted the whole entire thing! And it actually looks like a beautiful dress! If I were to do something like that, it would end up looking like a pillow case or something. I'm glad to know that Elizabeth is related to someone with sewing abilities (because it sure doesn't run in my family!).

There she is again, falling asleep on Grandpa Over's shoulder. I swear that's her favorite resting place. I wish that I could duplicate it and put it on my shoulder...mine isn't as padded I guess (no offense grandpa!).

Dad and Lum, again. How precious!! :)

I miss you! It is so hard to get together now a days, life is so busy. It nice to have the blogs to keep in touch!

She really is ONE of the cutest baby girls I have ever seen. I have to say one because of my own little sweetie. I want to pinch those little cheeks so bad I can hardly stand it. At least Elizabeth will keep the bows in her hair, I have given up all hope on Chloee!
